ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF CARE
- University degree in Nursing or equivalent education and experience
- At least 10 years’ experience in Assited Living and LTC environments
- Ability to design and oversee comprehensive programming activities as well as resource allocation and risk management activities
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills and ability to recommend appropriate corrective action for the delivery of nursing care
The Assistant Director of Care brings a minimum of 10 years’ expereince in a combination of LTC and Assisted Living facilitieis. Your extensive knowledge of programming and resource allocation is complimented by your familiarity with RAI/MDS and risk management activities. As the Assistant Director of Care, you will provide support to the Director of Care, as well as the nursing and PSW staff on site to ensure continued excellent care of facility residents. You will be the primary source for corrective action and recommendation for the delivery of nursing care and you will also liaise and ensure compliance with the OH&S team and related bodies.

REGISTERED PRACTICAL NURSE
- RPN designation
- Current First Aid/CPR and Medical Administration Certificate
- At least 5 years’ of resident programming experience required
- excellent communication, documentation and leadership skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of Ministry of Heath guidelines and regulations, as well legislated and ethical standards set by the College of Nurses
The RPN will bring a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a combination of LTC and Assisted Living facilities. You are well adapted to working independently, as well as part of a nursing team. Your primary responsibilities will involve working the PSW and OT staff to design and deliver lifestyle enhancement programming for residents of the facility, with a view to maximizing the enjoyment and quality of resident life. Your well developed communication and documentation skills are complimented by a thorough understanding of applicable legislation and guidelines from the MOH and the College of Nurses.

- Bachelor of Science Degree
- RN designation with at least 3 years experience in a LTC environment
- Ability to direct, supervise and evaluate the performance of PSW’s, Aides and RPN’s
- Significant skill in the development and implementation of resident care plans
- Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail
- The RN will report to the Director of Care and will be accountable to supervise and train a team of RPN’s, PSW’s and Aides in the care of facility residents. You will attend interdisciplinary care conferences and develop the corresponding resident care plans including detailed documentation required for specific care tasks and the administration of medication by your team. Your superior communication skills and attention to detail will be complimented by your empathetic nature and commitment to resident quality of life.
